Why Volunteer?
Many incredible food banks and food insecure organizations work tirelessly to assist those in need, but they simply can’t do it without the assistance of volunteers like you.
Volunteers leave each day after donating their time, knowing they have helped provide food for those in desperate need. They make a critical difference in their community by helping to collect, sort, pack, distribute and deliver food. Even a few hours of volunteering in a day can make a big difference to our neighbors facing crisis.
Volunteering not only demonstrates your concern for others, it proclaims that you recognize that there are people out there who need our assistance, and more significantly, that you are willing to go out and do something about that.
Your time is appreciated!
Volunteering is a great way to connect with your fellow humans and the people in dire need of food donations. Through various activities and events, you can spend time together, while giving back to the community. Someone will appreciate your time.
Learn new skills and people
Volunteering is also an excellent way for young professionals and students to acquire new skills and contacts in the community. You can learn about food banking and hunger insecurity, food logistics, and show future employers that you care about your community.
Enjoy yourself while joining a worthwhile movement
Many volunteers say the experience has changed their outlook on the world.
If you don’t have the opportunity to work in a job you love, you can still find something you love doing! Volunteers have fun packing and distributing food, knowing they are making a difference in their own community. Volunteers can save lives, help build relationships, and learn new skills.
