Big Servings of Inspiration at the No Waste Big Taste Cook-off
So you like to cook? Ever wonder what it would be like to be in a cooking competition, like Chopped? Could you create an incredible looking and tasting dish using mystery ingredients, under time pressure, and in front of a live audience? Blogger, Linda Wang was up for the challenge when she was invited to be a sous chef for the No Waste, Big Taste cooking competition, hosted by Manna Food Center’s Community Food Rescue Week.
The cooking competition took place at the Silver Spring Fresh Farm Market and pitted two teams, both CFR food donor businesses, for the title of Top chef. The competition capped CFR’s week-long series of events to raise awareness of hunger, food waste, and food recovery efforts in Montgomery County.
